1954 Born in Kyoto with congenital weak-sightedness. Lost sight completely at the age of ten.
1976 Graduated from Physical Therapy Dept of a School for Visually Handicapped, studied existentialism philosophy at Otani University.
1982 Opened an accupuncture clinic.
1992 Start to take part in "Figurative Art Workshop Beyond Visual Sense" sponsored by Muse Company. Studied under artist Yohei NISHIMURA.
1995 Inspired by the paintings of Flavio Titolo, a visually impaired stone sculpture artist.
1997 Exihibited in "Asian Breeze" (at Metropolitan Theatre Gallery in Ikebukuro)
1998 Awarded the Silver Prize at '98 Nagano Art Paralympics
1998 Solo exhibition (at Gallery Haneusagi)
1998 Art Now '98 (at Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Modern Art)

Artist

Born in Hokkaido.
Received a B.A. from Musashino Art University.
Nakamura was awarded the 10th Anniversary Special Prize of the Ava/Nicograph CG Grand Prix (1991) with her digital painting.
Nakamura is awarded the Grand Prize from the Japan Information-Culture Society in 1995 and the Net-Art Award of the Multimedia Grand Prix '95 for the Renga project, and was invited to IMAGINA 94 as a speaker.
Renga was selected for SIGGRAPH'94 art show.
Moppet, another project Nakamura collaborated with other artists and researchers, was selected and exhibited at Prix Ars Electronica'97 Interactive Category.
Nakamura's digital paintings are exhibited internationally including the art gallery at IMAGINA 92 and 93. She is the producer of "Rengei-za", a collaborative "net theatre" where professional digital artists offer a variety of programs.
She also directs "Beijing Renga" live session and a series of Renga experimental projects with a grant from MMCA.

Computer Media Artist / Software Engineer

1956 Born in Tokyo.
Anzai has developed computer graphics software including a paint system he developed at Sapience Corp in 1987. He is author of two books on computer graphics. From 1991 to 1997 his digital illustration appeared on the cover of Nikkei Communication journal. Anzai is interested in the integration of computer networks and art already in the 80s. He realized projects such as and among others. Since 1992 he has been working on "Renga", a collaborative art project conducted over computer-based communication systems. Renga has achieved international regard. In 1998 Anzai directed the development of "TheWall" system.
